Rivet self-piercing riveting is a very good way to connect light sheets, so it is widely used in the production of fan blades for large industrial fans, and self-piercing rivets can use hollow rivets and semi-hollow rivets. Which rivet is more suitable for the use of industrial fan blades? In this paper, hollow rivets and semi-hollow rivets with heights of 7 and 8 mm are used, respectively. The self-piercing riveting connection method is used to perform experiments on sheet metal connections, and the static experiments of the respective connectors are performed by experimental machines. The experimental data are processed by software. Analyze and compare the strengths of the rivets connected by these two rivets.

I. Experimental preparation

The self-piercing riveting equipment used in this paper is a handheld battery-driven self-piercing riveting machine. The static strength test of the riveted joint is not prepared as a universal test machine. In the experiment, 5052 aluminum alloy rivets with a sheet thickness of 3 + 3mm were hollow rivets and semi-hollow rivets with heights of 7 and 8mm, respectively. Before the experiment, the sheet is processed into a rectangular sheet that is easy to experiment. The sheet size is 135 × 36mm, and the overlapped form is 36x36mm.

In addition, it can be seen from FIGS. A and b that both the hollow rivet and the half-heart rivet form a self-locking. In addition, a rivet with a rivet height of 8 mm is smoother and smoother than a rivet with a rivet height of 7 mm. This is because the impulse is large enough, the rivets with a height of 8mm have been fully squeezed with the die to stop the riveting, and the rivets with a height of 7mm have not yet been squeezed, so that the rivets continue to move in the country.
